I can't get enough of these little guys! Indy was sitting up today! Of course, it only lasted a few seconds before he toppled over.
The puppies are moving around the whelping box a lot more. They are starting to lift their heads and attempting to get on all fours (instead of slinking around on their bellies!)
The puppies are all doing great! They doubled their birth weights yesterday and are all over 2 pounds! They are little chubsters, always at the milk bar! We started ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation). We will perform these protocols until 16 days old.
They're Here!!! "The Eyes Have It" Litter (a nod to their daddy) has finally arrived, whelped Tuesday am! Two boys and one girl. These babies were born Two days after their due date, Daisy sure keeps us on our toes. She ended up needing a c-section due to a stuck puppy (16.1 oz red collar boy) that wouldn't come out. She worked on pushing unsuccessfully for about 3 hours. Our fabulous vet met us at the clinic and they were born around 6:30 am. It's been interesting, Daisy is starting to realize that the puppies are hers and not aliens that are sucking her dry! She is on her way to being a great mom. A BIG thank you to my whelper helper, Linda Kelly who stayed up all night with us.
Jensie x Daisy * CH Zenith N Moonlight All Eyes on Me x GCH Ch Mehagian's Darling Daisy CA "Indy" Red Boy 16.1 oz * "Izack" Black Boy 15.3 oz * "Iris" Purple Girl (Originally pink girl, but we changed it to purple) 14.8 oz Daisy's due date came & went..... we don't call her Doozy for nothin'!
Daisy is still her happy self despite being preggers! We tried having her sleep in her whelping box last night instead of her crate, she decided it would be much more comfortable to sleep on my camping cot that I have set up. During the day, Lucy has decided the cot is a good spot for her!
